Social Security assistance for 'Wounded Warriors'

One of the recent posts on this blog discussed the Social Security Administration's "Wounded Warrior" program, a program that allows many New Jersey soldiers who have been injured in the line of duty an opportunity to have their request for Social Security disability benefits reviewed on an expedited basis. A solider who is eligible for this program still has to qualify for benefits in the same as any other New Jersey resident.

Most people in the Newark area know intuitively that being a solider is both a dangerous business and a significant sacrifice to the service of one's country. Even soldiers who never see actual combat are still expected to do dangerous tasks that can lead to a serious injury and an inability to work, much less stay in the armed forces.

A solider who has suffered a debilitating injury while in duty may find it easy enough to qualify for the "Wounded Warrior" program, since all it involves is notifying the Administration that the injury in question occurred while on active duty. What may not be so easy is gathering all of the medical evidence, proof of income and other documentation one needs in order to complete a successful application for benefits.

Our law office has helped many different types of people suffering under many different types of injuries obtain the disability benefits to which they are entitled. We can help injured vets compile the information they need to convince the Administration that they qualify for benefits. Although a favorable can of course not be guaranteed, we also stand willing and ready to assist with an appeal if an application for benefits gets denied.
